Wizard’s Tower is delighted to announce the acquisition of UK rights to the Middle Grade novels, Mars Evacuees and Space Hostages by Sophia McDougall.

The books were originally published, to considerable acclaim, back in the 2010s, but are currently out of print in the UK. This deal will make them available to a new generation of British readers.

In Mars Evacuees a group of children are sent to Mars for safety after aliens invade Earth, but their new home is far more dangerous than they expected. In Space Hostages our heroes (and their floating robot goldfish) set out to save the world.

Currently we will publish in the UK only. This may change as the rights situation alters.

McDougall will re-edit the books for re-publication. She has plans for a third book in the series.

Sophia McDougall said: “Ten years ago these books were denied a fair chance after I tried to draw attention to industry sexism. While these are tales of robots and aliens in outer space, they have their roots in the UK. I am delighted that Wizard’s Tower Press is bringing them back here, and excited for the possibility of continuing the story.”
