Wizard’s Tower to Publish Peadar Ó Guilín’s The Sword Garden

Wizard’s Tower is delighted to announce the acquisition of worldwide rights to The Sword Garden, a new novel by Irish writer, Peadar Ó Guilín. He is best known for his YA novel, The Call. His The Invasion was a finalist for the Lodestar Award in 2019.

Never trust the dead.

The Empire’s richest city is about to revolt and only Jared’s dying father can save the day. But the rebels have allied with ghosts. The hostile Northerners press at their borders, along with hideous beings of unnatural origin. Military victory is something that Jared’s father can deliver, if he can live long enough. Yet Jared is about to discover something far more terrifying at the heart of the rebel city. Prepare for the worst. Prepare for the fall of an entire world.

Adrian Tchaikovsky said of The Sword Garden, “The twists don’t let up, with each revelation weirder than the last. A magnificent and original delve into where the human meets the alien.”

Peadar Ó Guilín said, “I’ve been wanting to write this one for years: a mixture of everything I love and fear in one book.”

Publisher, Cheryl Morgan, said: “The Sword Garden is a fascinating book that doesn’t give up its secrets easily. I’m delighted to be welcoming Peadar to the Wizard’s Tower family as we have known each other for many years. I should also thank the lovely SF&F fans of Luxembourg for inviting us both to their annual convention. Peadar and I first discussed this book over breakfast in our hotel there.”

Publication is expected in Spring 2026.
