This series chronicles the adventures of Malance, a young translator from the tiny country of Verantha working in the vast capital of the Feremendan Empire. When Verantha is conquered by an enemy power, and most of her people head home to join the resistance, Malance gets asked to become the new Veranthan Ambassador.
